Does anybody know any good summer (june-august) trout streams in Erie county? I'd like to get out more and fly-fish for wild or stocked rainbows and browns except the nearest spot that I know that is productive is the upper Cattauragus system (Hosmer brook etc.). Any suggestions would be a great help.

u have 18 mile which isn't to far from orchird park haven't fished it but have heard that they stock it. also cattaraugus crick in arcade has some fishin opportunity's. but if u are willing to drive every once in a while the best spot ive been to for flyfishing is the genessee river right in wellsville at the park. everything has been fishing well ive been hitting the catt a couple times the last couple of days and doin very well. way to many fish to count and some monsters thrown in. couple in low twenty's and one monster at 28 inches which took me for a ride. wellsville was doin very well as of sunday with more fish than u can imagin. also they just stocked a bunch of 2 and 3 yr olds throught the wellsville trout derby area

Yeah. Went to eighteenmile two days ago. Only saw one rise and figured they were taking nymphs or streamers. No luck though on the fly rod. As the day progressed I switched to the spinning tackle and had one on which felt pretty small on a mepps aglia spinner size 0. Saw only three or four trout for the extent of the creek. As I made my way downstream i ran into a fairly large pool where the south branch meets the main branch. Saw a crap load of bass mainly largemouth and about 7 really big suckers or carp. Overall it was a good time but the creek is starting to warm and bass are pushing farther upstream. Probably gunna fish the upper cattaraugus system this weekend. I'll keep posting.
